Job Title: Senior Substation Civil Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Civil Structural Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading and designing high voltage utility civil substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform design reviews of civil/structural design components, including substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and fire-walls.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in design of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality control and compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Participate in bid and proposal development, and contribute to the development of construction packages for substation projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATHCAD software.
  • Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, and LPile software.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
