Substation Project Engineer Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled Substation Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Power team, you'll play a critical role in designing and executing substation projects that meet our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of scopes, schedules, and budgets for substation projects
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of physical substation design, including yard layouts, plans, sections, and details
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet client requirements and industry standards
  • Prepare calculations and reports for studies and projects, including grounding, lightning protection, and AC/DC load studies
  • Coordinate design activities with other departments, including Civil/Structural, Networks, and Transmission Line
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with managers, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Work independently and may direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise efforts of less-experienced engineers and designers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector
  • Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm
