Position Overview

The Production Packaging Specialist role involves operating and performing preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure production aligns with quality standards in an efficient and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Adjust machinery as needed to consistently produce quality zippered products while meeting or exceeding productivity goals, including line speed, yield, and uptime. Set up and operate winders to ensure products are wound according to specifications. Conduct efficient machine setups, changeovers, and start-ups. Collaborate and communicate troubleshooting efforts with team members, supervisors, quality assurance, and maintenance personnel. Execute preventative maintenance tasks as necessary. Maintain adequate levels of correct materials on the production line at all times. Ensure proper labeling and identification of all materials, including raw, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Conduct all quality checks and operate testing equipment according to established procedures. Proficiently use polybags, blisters, and hand-pack items. Operate scales, labelers, printers, tapers, dumpers, and electric pallet jacks. Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly. Recognize all safety hazards and adhere to safety protocols and precautions. Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times. Fulfill all daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities as outlined in the Master Cleaning Schedule. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred, or a minimum of 6 months of relevant machine operation experience and/or training. Willingness to work assigned shifts, including potential overtime and weekends. Self-motivated, strong team player, capable of working with minimal supervision. Ability to troubleshoot machine issues effectively. Strong communication skills.

Employees must be able to lift products and display materials weighing between 1 and 50 pounds consistently. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to bend, kneel, lift, stand, and walk on hard surfaces such as concrete.
