Job Overview

The Culinary Line Specialist is responsible for preparing menu items for the food service at Hilltop Ski Area. This role ensures that all dishes are cooked to perfection and presented beautifully in a timely manner. The focus is on efficiency and minimizing waste while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhering to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Cooking various menu items using grills, fryers, and ovens.
  • Sanitizing work areas consistently throughout the shift.
  • Ensuring all kitchen equipment is kept clean and operational.
  • Completing daily prep lists and assisting with dishwashing duties.
  • Preparing and plating items according to customer orders, including appetizers and fried foods.
  • Maintaining knowledge of food preparation and safety standards.
  • Engaging with guests in a friendly manner to enhance their dining experience.
  • Stocking and restocking kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Checking identification to verify legal drinking age for alcohol service.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and adhering to company grooming standards.
  • Performing janitorial tasks as assigned.
  • Promoting a culture of exceptional guest service and teamwork.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • Knowledge of culinary industry standards and practices.
  • Previous experience in short order cooking, particularly with grills and fryers.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Understanding of food handling and health regulations.
  • Must hold a valid food handler's card and TAP certification.
  • Minimum age requirement of 21 years.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods and perform various physical tasks, including lifting items up to 50 pounds. Employees will frequently engage in repetitive motions and must be able to communicate effectively with team members.
