Position Overview

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Preschool Educator to collaborate with the Director and Assistant Director in fostering a nurturing, engaging, and creative learning environment for young children. Building Kidz specializes in integrating performing arts into our preschool curriculum, aiming to enhance children's academic success while promoting their artistic talents.

The Lead Educator will be instrumental in cultivating a cohesive teaching team, orchestrating the educational curriculum, and overseeing the daily operations of the classroom. A profound understanding of children's developmental stages—cognitive, social, emotional, and physical—is essential to create a safe and stimulating atmosphere where children can thrive and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute educational programs by creating classroom activities that align with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning benchmarks.
  • Exemplify leadership by encouraging team success through effective modeling and mentorship.
  • Develop and implement individual and group activities that are age-appropriate, fostering children's social, cognitive, and emotional development.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents through informal discussions, progress updates, and parent-teacher meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.
  • Promote a healthy classroom environment by upholding hygiene standards and ensuring the safety and security of all children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to guarantee adherence to planned activities and safety protocols.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation as required.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to ensure continuous improvement in teaching practices.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in child care.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with basic computer proficiency.
  • High energy and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents to foster a supportive team environment.
  • A solid understanding of child development principles.
  • Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and health screening.
  • An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with at least 30 credits in ECE.
  • Physical ability to engage in frequent walking, handling objects, and interacting with children at various levels.
  • Visual acuity to perform tasks that require close vision and depth perception.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background check cleared in the MERIT system.
  • Completion of 30 hours of STARS training.
  • Certification in CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens.
  • Food Handlers Certification.
  • Proof of MMR vaccination.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
