Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Facilities Operations Manager to lead our team at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Radiochemical Processing Laboratory (RPL) facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers and specialists to maintain the RPL facility in a safe and mission-ready state.
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including 10 CFR 830.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to resolve operational issues and facilitate the conduct of business.
  • Ensure the availability of facility systems and resources necessary to support the research mission.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with regulators, customers, and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in nuclear facility operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • BS/BA degree in a related field, or MS/MA degree in a related field with 8 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, work control, nuclear operations, and environmental, safety, and health policies and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in radiologically controlled or high-hazard areas. The candidate selected will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing for illegal drugs, including marijuana, consistent with the Controlled Substances Act and the PNNL Workplace Substance Abuse Program.
