About the Role

Sargent & Lundy's Government Services Division is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge engineering solutions for the management and operating contractors of US Department of Energy (DOE) sites and national laboratories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct design of processes on new and modified systems, utilizing your academic background and expertise in nuclear engineering.
  • Evaluate and review the design of energy and industrial processes projects for the energy and industrial market.
  • Prepare preliminary engineering studies for modifying and retrofitting design projects on new and existing energy and industrial facilities.
  • Analyze technical issues, prepare accompanying system specification data, and present your findings and proposals to clients and peers.
  • Support Sargent & Lundy's active role in the United States' national security efforts.
Requirements
  • BS in Nuclear Engineering or MS in Nuclear Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with a strong academic background.
  • Ten or more years of experience in a nuclear related field.
  • An understanding of the practical application of nuclear engineering and technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Experience with nuclear materials/wastes and their associated processes.
  • Familiarity with 10 CFR Part 830 - Nuclear Safety Management and Department of Energy Standards.
