Job Summary

EAGLE College Prep Arizona is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated 7th/8th Grade Mathematics Teacher to join our team. As a Mathematics Educator, you will be responsible for leading the instruction and training of scholars in your classroom and/or assigned grade level(s).

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a Positive Learning Environment: Create a structured and achievement-oriented learning environment that fosters academic excellence and character growth among scholars.
  • Develop and Implement Instructional Plans: Design and implement daily instruction plans that align with the school's long-range educational and organizational goals.
  • Employ Effective Instructional Strategies: Utilize a variety of creative, differentiated, and research-based instructional strategies to engage scholars in meaningful and rigorous learning experiences.
  • Assess and Analyze Student Progress: Conduct regular assessments, track student progress, and analyze data to determine student mastery and diagnose areas of misunderstanding.
  • Manage Classroom and Behavior: Apply classroom management techniques and implement disciplinary actions to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Record and Report Student Progress: Maintain accurate and complete records, including attendance, behavior, student achievement data, grades, progress reports, and parent communication.
  • Set and Achieve Goals: Establish measurable, ambitious, and attainable goals for the year and each interim assessment cycle.
  • Ensure Scholar Safety and Well-being: Provide reasonable vigilance for the physical safety and well-being of scholars while on campus or off-campus for school functions.
  • Evaluate Scholar Progress: Regularly evaluate individual scholar academic progress through varied assessments.
  • Build Relationships with Scholars, Parents, and Families: Foster positive relationships with scholars, parents, and families to promote scholar success and well-being.
  • Continuously Improve Teaching Skills: Seek out constructive feedback and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
  • Participate in Faculty and Staff Meetings: Actively and professionally participate in all faculty and staff meetings, professional development, and events.
  • Teach, Lead, or Assist with Educational Activities: Teach, lead, or assist with educational or extracurricular activities outside of regular school hours.
Competencies

  • Collaborative Relationships: Build rapport with scholars, parents, and families, and continually improve teaching skills by seeking out constructive feedback and professional development opportunities.
  • Resource Management: Maintain accurate and complete records, including attendance, behavior, student achievement data, grades, progress reports, and parent communication.
  • Forming Character: Apply classroom management techniques and implement disciplinary actions to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment, assume responsibility for scholar success by holding all scholars accountable to school-wide behavioral expectations, and recognize, celebrate, and reward scholar achievement and character development.
  • Academic Excellence: Establish a positive, achievement-oriented, and structured learning environment that fosters academic excellence and character growth among scholars, set measurable, ambitious, and attainable goals for the year and each interim assessment cycle, and evaluate individual scholar academic progress through regular and varied assessments.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in college in your last year of schooling receiving a bachelor's degree in an education program.
  • Must have a State Teacher Certification OR meet Highly Qualified Requirements.
  • If highly qualified, passed applicable AEPA/NES Subject Knowledge exam prior to first day, and applicable AEPA/NES Professional Knowledge exam; within 30 calendar days from start date or prior to the first day of school.
  • Experience working with students and families in low-income urban communities a plus.
  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills a plus.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with school teaching platforms and technology for virtual learning a plus.
