We are seeking experienced clinical and theoretical nursing instructors in Phoenix, AZ, on a per diem basis. Candidates must possess OB bedside experience. Previous teaching experience is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with fellow instructors to prepare, administer, and evaluate course examinations, including final assessments.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance and submission of class attendance and grades.
  • Assist in strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives to uphold program quality.
  • Plan and execute orientation for new faculty in both theoretical and clinical settings.
  • Employ teaching principles that cater to the characteristics of adult learners.
  • Continuously strive to enhance the quality of instruction.
  • Demonstrate or develop skills for integrating online activities to enrich course content and facilitate interactive learning.
  • Maintain comprehensive student records, including attendance and skills assessments, and assist with program data collection.
  • Timely submission of required program reports and documentation to the program director.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and safety regulations.
  • Engage in committee activities that align with the nursing program's mission and objectives.
  • Participate in faculty meetings.
  • Plan and oversee student clinical experiences in designated healthcare facilities.
  • Assess student performance against clinical learning outcomes, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Provide immediate feedback on clinical performance following observations.
  • Assist in maintaining student records related to clinical attendance and skills assessments, contributing to program data collection.
  • Ensure clinical assignments align with both student and facility requirements.
  • Determine effective methods for observing, instructing, and evaluating students.
  • Verify that clinical facilities meet all health and safety standards for student attendance.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication with students through scheduled office hours and electronic correspondence.
  • Engage in student advising activities.
Qualifications
  • Possess a valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Hold a Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited institution, including coursework in nursing, education, or administration, with a focus on OB, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry.
  • Have a minimum of two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
  • Possess at least one year of clinical experience within the last five years, with clinical teaching counting towards direct patient care, and be clinically competent as defined in CCR Section 1420(c).
  • Demonstrate expertise in Psychiatric nursing.
