Position Summary:
We are seeking qualified clinical and theoretical nursing instructors to contribute to our educational mission. Candidates must possess experience in obstetrics and be prepared to engage in a per diem teaching role. Previous teaching experience is not a prerequisite.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors to design, administer, and evaluate assessments for the course.
- Ensure accurate maintenance and submission of class attendance and grades.
- Assist in the strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives to uphold program quality.
- Facilitate the orientation process for new faculty members in both theoretical and clinical settings.
- Employ teaching strategies that cater to the unique characteristics of adult learners.
- Continuously strive to enhance the quality of instruction.
- Demonstrate or develop skills for integrating online activities to enrich course content and facilitate interactive learning.
- Maintain comprehensive student records, including attendance and skills assessments, and assist with program data collection.
- Timely submission of required program reports and documentation to the program director.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and safety regulations.
- Engage in committee activities that align with the nursing program's mission and objectives.
- Participate in faculty meetings.
- Plan and oversee student clinical experiences in designated healthcare facilities.
- Assess student performance in relation to clinical learning outcomes, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Provide immediate feedback on clinical performance following observations.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of clinical attendance and skills assessments, contributing to program data collection.
- Ensure clinical assignments align with both student and facility requirements.
- Determine the most effective methods for observing, instructing, and evaluating students.
- Verify that clinical facilities meet all health and safety standards for student participation.
- Facilitate ongoing communication with students through scheduled office hours and electronic correspondence.
- Engage in student advising activities.
- Possess a valid, active nursing license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
- Hold a Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited institution, with coursework in nursing, education, or administration, particularly in OB, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry.
- Have a minimum of two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- Demonstrate clinical experience within the last five years, with clinical teaching counting towards direct patient care experience.
- Exhibit expertise in Psychiatric nursing.
