Job Summary:

As a Venous Access RN Specialist at AdventHealth, you will be responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total vascular access care to all age groups. You will utilize the nursing process to achieve the goals of the Venous Access Services department. Your expertise will be essential in communicating with Department Supervisor, Clinical Specialist or Educator to enhance excellence in the delivery of patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs venous access related procedures within the scope of practice of the RN licensure.
  • Functions appropriately in Code Blue and other clinical emergencies.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of interventions.
  • Interprets and verifies physician orders, investigates questionable situations.
  • Demonstrates continuous competency in the specific procedures related to venous access and infusion therapy.
  • Provides expert resourcing to staff nurses and other departments as consulted.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of a school of nursing.
  • Current valid State of Florida or multistate license as a Registered Nurse.
  • PICC Validation.
  • Port Validation.
  • Peripheral Intravenous Access Validation.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Advanced Life Support Certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) per specialty/unit requirements.
  • RN VAS experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • VA-BC (Venous Access-Board Certified).
  • CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion).
  • EKG.
