About the Role

The U.S. Marine Corps is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our Installation and Environment Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing carpentry, plumbing, and painting duties in the installation, modification, and repair of buildings, structures, and other construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform minor construction and repair on existing structures involving standard measurements, specifications, instructions, and basic shop mathematics.
  • Locate and make repairs to plumbing and disposal systems, such as dirty traps, sections of pipe, and leaky drains.
  • Prepare surfaces, mix and prepare coating material, and apply coating materials.
  • Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Requirements

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasize the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies in the job elements and screen-out listed below.

Screen-Out Element

The ability to do the work of the position without normal supervision performing common tasks including carpentry, plumbing, and painting duties in the installation, modification, and repair of buildings, structures, and other construction projects.
