Medical Assistant Receptionist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Assistant Receptionist to join our team at New England Ambulatory SurgiCenter. This full-time position involves performing routine administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our medical facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage administrative duties in a timely and efficient manner
- Support medical staff with routine clinical tasks
- Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
- Prepare patients and maintain charts in EPIC
- Prepare rooms for providers
- Check and enter vitals in EPIC
- Check patients in and out during office days
- Answer phone calls and transcribe messages to physicians
- Schedule appointments and tests for patients
- Verify and review allergies, medications, medical history, and social history with patients
- Prepare patients for office visits and/or pre-op patients for procedures
- Assist nurses and patients during procedures and post-op
- Assist physicians with office-based procedures
- Sterilize and prepare medical tools and equipment
- Obtain anticoagulant holds prior to procedures and relay instructions to patients
- Transmit messages to nursing staff or physicians through EPIC
- Stock the office and procedure areas with medical supplies
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience in healthcare administration or related fields
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with EPIC or other electronic medical records preferred
- Certification preferred, but other applicants may be considered
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Reliable transportation
