Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant Receptionist to join our team at New England Ambulatory SurgiCenter. As a Medical Assistant Receptionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility. Your primary responsibilities will include performing routine administrative and clinical tasks, communicating with insurance companies, preparing patients and maintaining charts in EPIC, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage administrative duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff, including preparing patients and maintaining charts in EPIC
  • Communicate effectively with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
  • Prepare rooms for providers and check patients in and out during office days
  • Answer phone calls and transcribe messages to physicians
  • Schedule appointments and tests for patients, verifying and reviewing allergies, medications, medical history, and social history
  • Prepare patients for office visits and/or pre-op patients for procedures
  • Assist nurses and patients during procedures and post-op
  • Assist physicians with office-based procedures, sterilizing and preparing medical tools and equipment
  • Obtain anticoagulant holds prior to procedures and relay instructions to patients
  • Transmit messages to nursing staff or physician through EPIC
  • Stock the office and procedure areas with medical supplies
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment
Requirements
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration or related fields
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with EPIC or other electronic medical records preferred
  • Certification preferred, but other applicants may be considered
  • Ability to build rapport with patients and demonstrate a compassionate and caring demeanor
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and reliable transportation
