Job Title: Academic Advisor

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a highly motivated and professional Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our students.

Job Summary:

The Academic Advisor will be responsible for providing academic advising to undergraduate students, interpreting university policies and procedures, and making professional referrals. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic advising to undergraduate students, including interpreting university policies and procedures.
  • Make professional referrals to support students' academic and personal success.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, faculty, and staff to promote a supportive learning environment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of academic advising programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments and units to support student success.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree or higher in a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in academic advising or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
