Academic Advisor

Flagler College is seeking a highly motivated and organized Academic Advisor to join our team. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our students, from first-year students to transfer and readmitted students. You will work closely with faculty coordinators, develop individualized academic plans, and ensure students remain on track for graduation. Your expertise in advising, communication, and organizational skills will enable you to provide exceptional support to our students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic advising and support to students, including developing individualized academic plans and ensuring students remain on track for graduation.
- Maintain a caseload of assigned programs and work collaboratively with faculty coordinators.
- Develop and implement advising strategies to support student success.
- Address areas of academic concern with students and refer them to on-campus services as needed.
- Work with academically at-risk students and provide referrals to on-campus resources.
- Collaborate with Student Accounts and Financial Aid to support students in understanding financial information and options.
- Represent the office during fall/spring orientation, onboarding events, and campus visit days.
- Lead advising sessions during orientation and assist in faculty trainings.
- Provide exceptional customer service and respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Advising experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills are required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work weekends and/or non-traditional hours as needed.
