Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team at The University of Texas at Arlington. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our students by providing guidance and resources to help them achieve their educational and career goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct academic advising sessions with students to help them create personalized academic plans and set goals for their academic and professional development.
  • Provide guidance on academic policies, procedures, and resources available to students, including degree requirements, course selection, and academic support services.
  • Monitor student progress and provide proactive outreach to students who may be at risk of academic difficulty or other challenges.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other advisors to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
  • Stay up-to-date on university policies, procedures, and initiatives to provide accurate and informed advising to students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • One year of experience working with college students or adolescents in an advising capacity or the equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
