About the Role

DTE Energy, a leading diversified energy company, is seeking a highly skilled Safety and Industrial Hygiene Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for leading safety and industrial hygiene efforts, implementing and overseeing safety programs and policies, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Design, implement, and continuously improve safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for employees.
  • Collaborate with Leadership and Employees: Work closely with leadership and employees to strengthen our company's safety culture and promote a culture of safety.
  • Lead Strategic Safety Initiatives: Develop and implement strategic safety initiatives to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Conduct Site Assessments: Conduct site assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend solutions to address gaps.
  • Ensure Compliance: Work with leaders to ensure compliance with regulations and alignment with company expectations.
  • Develop and Present Safety Reports: Create and deliver safety-related reports and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Develop and Present Training Programs: Develop and present training programs to educate employees on safety procedures and protocols.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety or a closely related field.
  • Experience: One year of practical experience in industrial safety, safety management systems, training, field/site safety auditing, project management, and hazard identification and control.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two Years of Experience: Two years of practical experience in industrial safety, safety management systems, training, field/site safety auditing, project management, and hazard identification and control.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety Regulations: Knowledge of occupational safety regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Standards: Knowledge of electrical standards and safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems: Knowledge of safety management systems and protocols.
  • Intermediate Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
