General Overview
- The Field Safety Specialist plays a crucial role in executing Clark Pacific's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies in collaboration with the EHS Manager. This position operates independently, providing project teams with proactive observations, recognizing positive behaviors, and identifying potential hazards on construction sites. The specialist will develop strategies to mitigate risks and communicate these strategies effectively with project teams and subcontractors. This role is vital in fostering continuous improvement in the company's safety culture, performance, policies, and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the EHS Manager in articulating and implementing the company's safety vision and objectives to cultivate a safety-oriented culture.
- Conduct site observations and analyze project plans to foresee challenges and propose solutions.
- Lead the documentation and development of the Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) and other essential project programs.
- Facilitate training for all levels of management and project teams as required.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and inspectors to strengthen the safety culture.
- Engage with field workers and project teams to foster strong relationships.
- Provide safety advice and recommendations to project leadership.
- Plan and implement safety solutions based on proactive indicators.
- Evaluate safety performance using data from various indicators.
- Integrate field safety considerations into various approaches, including risk-based thinking and compliance perspectives.
- Conduct investigations into project site incidents.
- Manage hazard assessments through safety inspections and data analysis to identify preventive measures.
- Inspect active project sites to ensure compliance and support employee safety.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb throughout the work shift.
- Travel between job sites may be required, including potential overnight stays.
- Conduct onsite inspections for regulatory compliance and company policies.
Performance Metrics
- Ensure Leading and Lagging KPIs are consistently monitored.
- Manage workload and meet assignment deadlines.
- Track project corrective actions to ensure timely completion.
- Engage with project leadership and company management as necessary.
- Work independently while providing regular updates to management.

Experience and Education

- 1-5 years of experience in Safety and Compliance within construction or manufacturing.
- OSHA 10 & 30 certification preferred.
