As a key member of the DTE Energy team, you will be responsible for leading safety and industrial hygiene efforts, implementing and overseeing safety programs and policies, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Design, implement, and continuously improve safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Collaborate with Leadership and Employees: Work closely with leadership and employees to strengthen the company's safety culture and promote a culture of safety.
- Lead Strategic Safety Initiatives: Develop and implement strategic safety initiatives to identify and mitigate risks, and to improve overall safety performance.
- Conduct Site Assessments: Conduct regular site assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend solutions to address gaps in safety protocols.
- Ensure Compliance: Work with leaders to ensure compliance with regulations and alignment with company expectations.
- Communicate Safety Information: Create and deliver safety-related reports and presentations to stakeholders.
- Develop Training Programs: Develop and present training and educational programs to employees on safety procedures and protocols.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety or a closely related field.
- Experience: One year of practical experience in industrial safety, safety management systems, training, field/site safety auditing, project management, and hazard identification and control.
- Advanced Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety or a closely related field.
- Additional Experience: Two years of practical experience in industrial safety, safety management systems, training, field/site safety auditing, project management, and hazard identification and control.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of occupational safety regulations, electrical standards, and safety management systems.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
