About the Role

Midea America Corp., a leading home appliance brand, is seeking a skilled R&D Clothes Dryer Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our North American R&D team, you will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and innovating drying product systems and components.

As a R&D Clothes Dryer Design Engineer, you will work closely with our Chinese overseas R&D team to develop new product appearance parts and functional parts. You will also be responsible for developing technology for intellectual property development for Clothes Dryers and improving dryer test lab processes to ensure reproducibility and repeatability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new product appearance parts and functional parts for Clothes Dryers
  • Develop technology for intellectual property development for Clothes Dryers
  • Improve dryer test lab processes to ensure reproducibility and repeatability
  • Research and develop key core technologies focusing on structural design and mechanical transmission
  • Participate in research on related innovation projects and innovation methods
  • Work closely with the North American R&D team and the Chinese Overseas R&D team
  • Actively participate in technical project reviews and innovation research projects
  • Cross-functional cooperation with various internal and external engineering teams to jointly carry out project work
  • Collaborate with project managers and Laundry R&D team on multi-generational technical plan roadmaps
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; Masters preferred
  • 7 to 10 years' experience working as a design engineer
  • 5 years of experience working on Clothes dryer systems
  • Experience with UG, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or other similar software
  • Hands on ability to prototype
  • Familiar with injection molding and metal fabrication
  • Good Communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skill and ability to prioritize tasks appropriately
  • A self-starter and self-disciplined in accomplishing tasks
  • Strong desire to learn with ability to be self-taught
