The Residential Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing Direct Support Professionals (DSP) as they deliver assistance within residential environments. This position serves as a representative of Impact Community Services in various external contexts, significantly shaping public perception of the organization. Additionally, this role includes providing back-up support when DSPs require additional assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise DSPs in residential settings to ensure their understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
- Facilitate training sessions for all DSPs.
- Conduct home visits to DSPs and complete scheduled quality assurance checklists.
- Monitor programs, making necessary adjustments; ensure the implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISP) and conduct quarterly reviews.
- Investigate incidents involving individuals and staff, completing necessary documentation while ensuring compliance with individual rights regulations.
- Participate in discharge planning and monitor behavioral management strategies.
- Be available on-call for various situations that may arise at Impact Community Services, including crisis emergencies, employee absences, and emergency preparedness.
- Assist in ensuring that individuals receiving services and employees comprehend their rights and can address any service-related complaints.
- In collaboration with the Service and Program Director, the Residential Services Supervisor will: (1) review all admission, treatment, and discharge documentation to ensure effectiveness, ethics, and timeliness; (2) meet with individuals receiving services and/or their authorized representatives to clarify the programs and services offered by Impact Community Services; (3) provide training, guidance, and support in developing ISPs, Behavior Treatment Plans (BTP), Discharge Plans, and Crisis Plans, ensuring that all plans are monitored for accuracy and timely implementation; (4) evaluate and support Impact Community Services' structured care programs concerning Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), Behavioral Management Programs, and Independent Living Skills.
- Qualifications Strong supervisory skills, effective oral and written communication abilities, and the capacity to establish and maintain productive relationships with individuals, the community, and staff are essential. The candidate should be able to analyze findings, identify issues, and propose solutions. Knowledge of intellectual disabilities and associated physical, health, and behavioral concerns is required. A caring and positive attitude, experience in conducting comprehensive assessments, and familiarity with documentation tools are necessary. The Residential Services Supervisor must also serve as a Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP) and possess reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance. Successful completion of training/certification in CPR, first aid, behavior management, and medication administration is mandatory.
