In this position, you will serve as the technical lead for a team of software developers focused on the Withhold at Source System. This system is crucial for the accounting and reconciliation of withholding for various entities, including income tax sellers of California real estate, nonresident entertainers, independent contractors, partners, and beneficiaries.

Working Environment

This role allows for remote work within California, adhering to departmental guidelines and operational requirements. FTB mandates a minimum in-office presence of two days per week for all positions, including those eligible for telecommuting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize tools to effectively plan, schedule, and execute assigned tasks.
  • Develop and maintain applications to address enhancement requests, maintenance tasks, and production incidents.
  • Generate and deploy code from testing environments to the production environment at the conclusion of each release cycle.
  • Create and uphold various low-level design documentation to support enhancement requests and established processes.
  • Provide assistance to other development, analyst, testing, and production support teams.
  • Participate in meetings to discuss proposed legislation and offer insights on overall application direction.
  • Engage in review sessions focused on different aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and production support.
