Overview
As a prominent entity in public health and health advocacy, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is dedicated to safeguarding the health of the American populace.
Role Summary
Every employee at CDC plays a crucial role in public health emergency management, whether through direct involvement in emergency responses or by supporting ongoing programs while colleagues are engaged in urgent tasks.
Key Responsibilities
As a Human Resources Coordinator, your duties will include:
- Providing assistance to HR specialists and supervisory personnel by executing technical and administrative tasks related to position classification.
- Identifying, reviewing, and summarizing data from classification standards and position descriptions; preparing standard justifications and recommendations for the classification of positions; assisting in desk audits; finalizing classification actions; and maintaining essential records.
- Supporting recruitment and placement initiatives by developing and issuing vacancy announcements, screening applications for completeness and eligibility, preparing candidate certificates, and conducting qualifications analysis.
- Processing personnel actions, preparing pre-appointment documentation, and assisting with employee onboarding.
- Offering general information regarding recruitment and classification processes.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet specific requirements:
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level, including experience with coding and processing HR actions and advising on compensation issues.
- Alternatively, candidates may qualify with one full year of graduate-level education in a relevant field or a combination of specialized experience and education.
Conditions of Employment
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and may be subject to a background investigation. This position may require a drug test and is subject to random drug testing.
Additional Information
This role is eligible for telework and may include flexible work scheduling options.
