We are in search of a skilled HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic to ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient care to all patients. Our team is dedicated to supporting one another, and we are looking for an exceptional individual who shares our commitment to patient care.

Position Summary

Under general supervision, this role involves performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC duties, along with the installation and repair of equipment and maintenance of facilities as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and conduct preventive maintenance on various equipment following diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications using hand tools and testing instruments.
  • Maintain and repair air handlers, exhaust fans, patient beds, sterilizers, generators, oxygen systems, vacuum systems, and pneumatic tube systems.
  • Repair and operate hot water heating systems, including boilers, transfer pumps, and heating coils.
  • Inspect, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Cut and thread pipes, fit valves, couplings, and other specified components.
  • Construct, repair, and maintain furniture, wall partitions, cabinets, doors, windows, and related carpentry tasks.
  • Calculate the quantity of materials and supplies needed for assigned projects.
  • Perform various heating and air conditioning service responsibilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date preventive maintenance records.
  • Be available for emergency and on-call duties as required.
  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations at all times.
  • Promote positive customer service with both internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by apprenticeship training or trade school training in plumbing, HVAC, or a related field.

Licensure/Certification:
License through the appropriate regulatory body.

Experience:
Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in plumbing, HVAC, or a related trade.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of relevant building or plumbing codes and familiarity with the materials, tools, and techniques of plumbing, maintenance, or HVAC trades.
  • Ability to work from sketches, blueprints, and written instructions; exercise initiative and judgment in estimating the method, materials, and time needed for projects; troubleshoot equipment or plumbing issues effectively.
  • Ability to work efficiently under emergency situations and follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds and perform work in confined spaces.
  • Skill in using a variety of hand and power tools for installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately with minimal supervision.
