Job Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic will perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and heating/air conditioning duties, as well as installing and repairing equipment and maintaining facilities.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
- Install, repair, and conduct preventive maintenance on various HVAC systems according to technical manuals and specifications.
- Maintain and repair air handling units, exhaust systems, and other essential medical equipment.
- Repair and operate hot water heating systems and associated components.
- Inspect, install, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Perform carpentry tasks including constructing and maintaining furniture and building structures.
- Calculate materials needed for assigned projects.
- Conduct various HVAC service responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records.
- Be available for emergency on-call duties as required.
- Adhere to safety regulations at all times.
- Promote excellent customer service with all stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent, with additional training in plumbing, HVAC, or a related field.
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Valid license from the appropriate regulatory body.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in plumbing, HVAC, or a related field.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Understanding of relevant building codes and HVAC standards.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for equipment and plumbing issues.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools related to maintenance tasks.
- Capacity to learn and execute essential job functions with minimal supervision.
