Essential Responsibilities:
To excel in this role, candidates must effectively execute the following key responsibilities:
- Conducting maintenance and repairs on company or government vehicles.
- Timely completion of maintenance requests and repair orders.
- Proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with regulations and policies.
- Keeping updated with the latest technologies and installation methods.
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and identifying vehicle and equipment issues; troubleshooting and pinpointing defects to ascertain the necessary repairs.
- Ensuring all assigned vehicles and equipment are repaired to guarantee safety and reliability.- Repairing various systems including lighting, sirens, wheel bearings, radiators, HVAC systems, springs, hydraulic systems, catalytic converters, and fuel pumps.
- Utilizing onboard diagnostic systems and other testing equipment to assess automotive computer control and emission systems; analyzing machinery malfunctions using various tools.
- Communicating with clients to update them on vehicle status and required repairs.- Inspecting and testing equipment for mechanical faults and replacing worn components.
- Removing, replacing, adjusting, or cleaning defective parts.
- Flushing radiators and refreshing anti-freeze solutions.
- Performing oil changes, fluid checks, diagnosing tire wear, replacing batteries, and troubleshooting issues.
- Conducting engine tune-ups.
- Applying appropriate techniques in accordance with manufacturer specifications for vehicle armoring as required.
- Repairing automotive locking mechanisms.
- Independently installing new vehicle equipment such as radios, sirens, and lighting systems.
- Identifying necessary parts and supplies for repairs or preventative maintenance.
- Estimating costs and labor time for repairs.
- Responding to emergency road calls for disabled vehicles and making minor adjustments or arranging for towing.
- Conducting road tests on vehicles during and after maintenance/repair work.
- Maintaining communication through emails and calls.
- Ensuring the provision of vehicles and support for clients.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
