HVAC Systems Maintenance Specialist

Under general supervision, this role is accountable for overseeing, repairing, and maintaining various heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems within the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective operation and repair of HVAC systems to uphold the facility's safety and efficiency.
- Continuously monitor HVAC system performance, identifying issues and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of preventive maintenance protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and modifications to facility systems.
- Document all maintenance activities, complete work orders, and prepare necessary reports promptly.
- Respond to routine and emergency alerts from building automation and safety systems.
- Occasionally work in environments with fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous materials.
- Maintain an adequate stock of spare parts and supplies, and manage requisitions for procurement.
- Be available for extended or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or G.E.D., vocational training, and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including HVAC certification.
- Strong knowledge of the methods, principles, and practices essential for HVAC system operation, repair, and maintenance.
- Comprehensive understanding of operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, and technical requirements for various events.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment necessary for HVAC maintenance.
- Familiarity with commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment (gas, electrical, and mechanical).
- Possession of any required licenses, certifications, or training mandated by local, state, or national authorities.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems to assist other technicians as needed.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and related documents.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, building codes, and emergency procedures.
- Meet the physical demands of the role, including mobility, lifting, and working in various conditions.
- Operate light vehicles and equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Work efficiently under pressure and maintain accuracy.
- Demonstrate independent judgment in routine and emergency situations.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Possess a valid driver's license and insurance.
- Remain adaptable to changing situations.
- EPA Universal Certification.
