About the Role

The AVP of Commercial Credit Administration and Lending Operations will provide strategic direction and oversight to the Commercial Services Support department, ensuring alignment with credit underwriting standards and concentration limits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with lending units to maintain credit underwriting standards and recommend changes as needed.
  • Manage and direct the Commercial Loan Servicing team and Commercial Portfolio team.
  • Develop and implement Commercial and SBA Lending related policies, underwriting guidelines, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Provide approval authority and recommendations on all Commercial and SBA loan submissions.
  • Review Commercial and SBA loan submissions and assist with Management Loan Committee (MCL) agenda.
  • Directly manage "problem" credits and special assets for timely and effective resolution.
  • Oversee the risk grading of all commercial credits.
  • Work collaboratively with regulatory examiners, third-party loan reviewers, and auditors.
  • Assess the accuracy and effectiveness of commercial loan underwriting and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Proactively manage the Commercial Real Estate valuation program.
  • Oversee and manage the credit union's Commercial and SBA loan portfolios to mitigate undesirable credit risk.
  • Provide guidance and oversight of commercial loan documents to ensure proper legal standing with borrowers.
  • Work effectively with production staff, providing training and insight into credit decisions and recommendations.
  • Evaluate existing and projected company cash flow.
  • Participate in organizational leadership meetings and provide strategic direction to Commercial Loan Operations and Administration.
  • Attend the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) and MLC meetings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years commercial lending credit administrative experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in the Financial Industry, specifically in loan production and customer interaction roles.
  • Proficient with standard office equipment, computer hardware, and software, and Microsoft programs.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and respond simultaneously to multiple tasks and requests.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze and report information and recommend achievable process improvements.
  • Ability to promote and participate in a cohesive team environment.
