Job Title: Sanitation Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the sanitation processes of a food manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and company standards. This role involves leading a team to maintain a clean and hygienic environment, critical for producing safe, high-quality bakery products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the sanitation team to ensure timely cleaning and sanitation of equipment, floors, walls, and production areas.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of production areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with FDA, USDA, OSHA, and other relevant food safety and environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement sanitation schedules to ensure effective cleaning and sanitation procedures.
- Provide ongoing training for sanitation team members on proper cleaning procedures, chemical safety, and food safety protocols.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Enforce safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure proper usage, storage, and handling of sanitation chemicals.
- Maintain accurate records of sanitation procedures, chemical usage, and cleaning schedules.
- Document sanitation inspections, corrective actions, and compliance reports.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations (GMP, HACCP, FSMA).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of sanitation procedures, food safety protocols, and regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to wet conditions, cleaning chemicals, and varying temperatures.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays, if required.
