Athletic Facility Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
Act as the primary staff member responsible for supervising athletic activities, including practices and competitions. Engage in both skilled and unskilled tasks within the County Park facilities as required. Operate light machinery to prepare athletic fields and facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Be present at designated athletic venues for all scheduled games and practices.
2. Prepare gyms or fields for sporting events.
3. Supervise fields or gyms to ensure order and adherence to schedules.
4. Serve as the authority on rules and regulations when inquiries arise.
5. Collect litter during and after events.
6. Maintain cleanliness of restrooms as necessary, including tasks such as cleaning toilets and urinals, sweeping and mopping floors, and restocking supplies.
7. Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Regular and reliable attendance is essential.
When assigned to Community Centers:
1. Verify that goal heights are appropriate for each event.
2. Dust mop gym floors as needed.
3. Arrange tables, chairs, score clocks, and scoreboards for each gym.
4. Ensure bleachers are clean and properly set up at all times.
5. Address any spills promptly.
6. Inform the Facility Coordinator of any issues or significant repairs required.
When assigned to Parks and Fields:
1. Operate equipment such as drag machines, chalk machines, and paint markers.
2. Confirm the presence of umpires and availability of baseballs/softballs for games.
3. Line and prepare fields according to league standards when necessary.
4. Repair equipment as needed; transport and set up tables and chairs for events.
EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS UTILIZED:
Drag Machine, Mat Drag, Chalk Machine, Paint Marker, Rake, Shovel, Field Dry, Paint Equipment, Various Cleaning Supplies (Mop, Broom, etc.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum qualifications are acceptable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Understanding of basic athletic rules and regulations.
2. Proficiency in operating light field preparation equipment.
3. Ability to comprehend and follow both oral and written instructions.
4. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor as necessary.
5. Skill in maintaining accurate records, such as scores.
ADA MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Physical Ability: Essential functions require continuous mobility, including walking, maintaining balance to prevent falls, and repetitive use of hands, arms, and legs. Incumbents must consistently demonstrate analytical thinking, focus on tasks, and remember names and details.
Additionally, essential functions frequently necessitate bending, twisting, reaching overhead, pushing or pulling items, and moving items weighing between 26 and 50 pounds.
Incumbents must be able to make decisions and adapt to changes regularly.
Essential functions may occasionally require remaining stationary, crawling, climbing, crouching, or moving items weighing over 51 pounds.
Incumbents must also handle stress and emotions effectively and discern colors.
Essential functions may require attending meetings, managing confidential information, and performing calculations.
Sensory Ability: Essential functions necessitate effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as hand-eye coordination for using tools and equipment.
Environmental Factors: Essential functions are continuously performed in various environmental conditions, including inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and potential hazards from tools and machinery.
Incumbents may frequently work alone or with others and must navigate uneven terrain while working around equipment.
