Crop Insurance Product Development Manager

American Farm Bureau Insurance Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Crop Insurance Product Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for creating and managing crop insurance products, from strategic initiatives to new products, as well as updating and maintaining current products through policy development, filing, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage crop insurance products, including private products, crop hail products, and product enhancements.
  • Assist in compiling and analyzing competitor's rates and rules.
  • Research and interpret NCIS and state regulatory requirements related to crop insurance forms, data, and filings.
  • Manage state insurance filings via SERFF for crop products from submission to approval.
  • Serve as liaison between NCIS, state insurance department, and various functional areas.
  • Assist other departments with developing training and promotional materials for adjusters, employees, and agents.
  • Analyze new insurance laws, regulations, and bulletins to determine applicability to existing products.
  • Revising and implementing underwriting guidelines, rules, and procedures.
  • Partner with IT to prioritize, implement, and enhance products into various operational systems.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience developing crop named peril, crop hail, and private crop products.
  • 6+ years of experience managing insurance filings from submission using SERFF to approval.
  • Knowledge of ratemaking and policy administration processes.
  • Understanding of NCIS and state regulatory requirements related to crop insurance.
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, superior written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to manage deadlines, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent research, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

American Farm Bureau Insurance Services, Inc. offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, company-funded cash balance pension, and a 401(k)-retirement plan. The expected starting salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $105,000, with actual pay determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
