Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Health Program Coordinator to join our team at DuPage County ROE.

About the Role:

The School Health Program Coordinator will be responsible for developing and administering a comprehensive school health program, including coordinating health services, providing staff in-service programs, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Develops and implements a comprehensive school health program that meets the needs of students and staff.
  • Health Services Coordination: Coordinates health services, including first aid, illness, and emergency care, and provides referrals for diagnosis and treatment as needed.
  • Staff In-Service Programs: Provides staff in-service programs on health topics and maintains accurate documentation of training sessions.
  • Medical Records Management: Maintains accurate and confidential medical records, including immunizations, physical examinations, and medical conditions.
  • Crisis Intervention: Participates as a crisis team member and provides crisis intervention for students and staff in the event of sudden illness or injury.
  • Mandated Reporting: Makes appropriate assessments and referrals for suspected abuse/neglect as a mandated reporter.
  • Communication: Maintains communication with administrators, teachers, other school personnel, and parents/guardians to enhance cooperative action and meet the health and safety needs of students.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field required.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in school nursing or a related field.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois and certification in school nursing (PEL) required.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy and contractual requirements for certificated personnel.
