Shop Operations Role

The estimated salary for this role is between $70,000 and $100,000 annually.

Gregory Electric Company Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead our shop operations team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our construction equipment fleet.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the shop, including scheduling and assigning tasks to technicians.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve equipment efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Develop and manage budgets for equipment maintenance and repair.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction equipment maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and construction equipment.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Welding and fabrication skills are highly desirable.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred or ability to obtain
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
