About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Facilities Engineer to join our team at GPAC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing complex HVAC and plumbing systems for mission-critical projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in designing and developing detailed phases of HVAC and plumbing work, including calculations, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and layouts of mechanical equipment and associated duct and piping systems.

You will also be responsible for developing mechanical construction and equipment specifications, test and inspection plans, and system design descriptions. Additionally, you will evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks and sequences of tasks for projects with less complex features, as well as collaborate and use judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments and more complex projects.

Your expertise will also be utilized to perform engineering quality assurance checks of project designs, support new project proposals with mechanical discipline scopes, budget estimates, and schedules, and meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.

What We Offer

Requirements
  • PE License required
  • Bachelor of Sciences in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program is required
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC and plumbing/piping systems design and associated engineering calculations
  • Proficient in editing and writing mechanical construction and equipment specifications
  • Working knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NFPA standards
  • Working knowledge of IMC, IPC, and IBC codes
