Senior Attorney for Child Protective Services Position

The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is in search of a knowledgeable Senior Attorney for Child Protective Services. In this pivotal role, you will provide direct legal representation in court for various cases. As part of your responsibilities, you will oversee the progress of all court cases managed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services within your designated region. Collaboration with caseworkers, supervisors, program directors, and other professionals will be vital to ensure the effective and timely resolution of cases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver legal counsel and interpretation of statutes, regulations, and policies to staff members
  • Provide legal support to county and district attorneys
  • Represent the agency in judicial proceedings
  • Prepare cases for litigation and manage trials
  • Conduct legal training sessions for staff and the legal community
