Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Account Representative plays a pivotal role in maintaining and growing relationships with customers, driving sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. This position requires a proactive approach to managing strategic accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and developing strong relationships with key decision-makers.

Essential Duties

  • Meet or exceed sales targets through proactive account management and strategic sales initiatives
  • Develop and execute plans to penetrate assigned accounts, expand customer relationships, and increase sales revenue
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring timely issue resolution and maintaining high customer satisfaction levels
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to inform sales strategies and drive business growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage expertise and resources, driving sales success and customer satisfaction
  • Document sales calls, projects, opportunities, contacts, and success reports in CRM, ensuring accurate and timely data capture
  • Complete detailed sales forecasts and reports as required, providing actionable insights to inform business decisions
  • Effectively utilize sales tools and resources to optimize sales performance, efficiency, and customer engagement

Requirements

  • Completion of SMC sales training program or equivalent sales and industry experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of pneumatic components and their applications
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of computers and ability to learn new programs and tools as required
  • Clean driving record

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced environment with a mix of office and field work
  • Travel with some extended stays away from home
  • Physically capable of lifting SMC products and displays up to 50 lbs
  • Varying work hours
