Job Description

Job Title: Preschool Head Teacher

Job Summary:

Lulac Head Start Inc is seeking a dedicated and experienced Preschool Head Teacher to oversee the daily operations of our preschool program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and be able to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of each child
  • Supervise and manage a team of preschool teachers and support staff
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for children
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and professional development sessions
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and other required documentation
  • Ensure compliance with local and state regulations and licensing requirements
  • Collaborate with other educators and professionals to continuously improve the quality of education provided

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 12 credits in ECE
  • Preschool CDA (Child Development Associate Certificate) preferred
  • Experience in child development minimum one year
  • Experience in classroom setting minimum one year
  • Experience in working with Preschool children, and parents minimum one year
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Education
  • Knowledge of child growth and development
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability in organizing, planning, scheduling and coordinating day-to-day activities
  • Ability to effectively manage a group of children
  • Ability to identify a child's special needs
  • Must have a warm and supportive attitude and disposition toward working with children and their families
  • Must be flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program
