The Accounting Supervisor is a key member of the Select Medical team, responsible for overseeing accounting activities for a group of assigned hospitals in the Critical Illness Recovery Hospital Division. This role involves supervising accounting staff to ensure that accounting and internal control objectives are met, resulting in high-quality financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Direct Accounting Staff: Provide guidance and oversight to assigned accounting staff to ensure they meet their responsibilities and contribute to the team's success.
  • Collaborate with Accounting Leadership: Work closely with accounting leadership and assigned staff to complete the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Promote Best Practices: Identify and implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Support Accounting Manager: Provide accurate and timely information to the Accounting Manager to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Audit Readiness: Promote audit readiness and assist with the completion of internal and external auditor activities to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Accounting Integration: Assist with accounting integration for acquired businesses, ensuring a seamless transition and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting: A degree in accounting is required, with a strong foundation in financial principles and practices.
  • Accounting Experience: A minimum of five years of applicable accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare industry accounting environment, is required.
  • US GAAP Principles: Working knowledge of US GAAP principles is essential for this role.
  • Microsoft Office Productivity Suite: Expertise with the Microsoft Office productivity suite is required, with a focus on financial analysis and reporting.
  • Oracle, OneStream, and MedHost Experience: Experience with Oracle, OneStream, and MedHost is desirable, but not required.
  • Healthcare Industry Accounting Experience: Healthcare industry accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
