Geotechnical Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Denver, Colorado office. As a key member of our team, you will support a wide range of geotechnical engineering projects across the United States, contributing to both routine and complex design and development efforts.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate with technical staff, project managers, and subcontractors to execute field exploration programs, including geologic hazard assessments, challenging ground conditions, special permit conditions, geotechnical monitoring, and traffic control.
  • Assess job and site hazards and develop Health and Safety Plans.
  • Interpret geologic and subsurface data to inform engineering designs, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses and calculations, developing recommendations for infrastructure and development projects (e.g., grading, slope stabilization, foundations, seismic hazards, retaining walls, earth pressures, and pavement design).
  • Prepare technical reports, design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for review.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop engineering cost estimates, proposals, and project schedules.
  • Lead geotechnical design efforts for structures like tieback anchors, soil nail walls, MSE walls, and landslide/rockfall mitigation.
  • Provide construction observation and engineering support during the construction phases of projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geologic Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-6+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado or the ability to obtain one upon hire.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and technical writing skills.
