The Account Manager is responsible for managing a book of high-net-worth insurance business, working independently with a high degree of discretion and autonomy. The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service to VIP clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues, resulting in high account retention rates. This role is focused on growth and retention of the private client book of business.
Key Responsibilities- Makes decisions on books of insurance business, working independently with a high degree of discretion and autonomy
- Works closely with producers, brokers, and other HUB personnel on client service, marketing, and renewals, adhering to HUB's best practices and standard procedures
- Oversees the preparation and implementation of all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts
- Acquires understanding of clients' insurance objectives, critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability
- Stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact clients
- Makes recommendations to clients in response to changes, independent of manager approval
- Acts as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve complex service issues
- May negotiate with underwriters and carriers
- Troubleshoots claims and billing issues
- Responsible for overall retention of accounts in assigned book of business
- Develops new business from existing accounts and assigned leads, contributing to meeting departmental production goals
- Identifies and follows-up on cross-selling opportunities
- Manages, organizes, and conducts client meetings, virtually or in-person, when necessary
- Documents conversations with clients and carrier representatives, updating all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems as needed
- Ensures accuracy of data in those systems
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Superior customer service and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work a regular, full-time schedule at HUB's facility(s) and travel on business when required
- EPIC experience a plus
- Licensing or Certification Requirements: FL 2-20 or 20-44 P&C License, current with all necessary CE credits in required lines and states
