  • This is a Faculty A, 9-month, 168 duty day position.

  • Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time, benefited Faculty A, 6 level position. Starting salary range: $66, $77,738.00 annually, based on experience.

Role Summary:
The Educator, Technology Pathway position is a full-time, benefited role focused on teaching and developing curriculum within the Information Technology academic program, with a significant emphasis on Cybersecurity. As part of the Information Technology team, this role will collaborate with fellow faculty to create a comprehensive curriculum for students, design innovative learning experiences, engage with industry partners, and guide students in preparing for careers in Information Technology Operations.

Key Responsibilities:
This position is classified as Exempt, meaning it is not eligible for compensatory or overtime pay under the FLSA. The following duties are representative but not exhaustive; additional responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Deliver student-focused instruction by preparing high-quality lessons across various modalities to enhance student engagement.
  • Incorporate effective classroom technologies and innovative practices in teaching by utilizing resources and researching technologies that add value to the learning environment.
  • Enhance teaching and learning through assessments that evaluate student engagement and success.
  • Maintain and adapt curriculum to ensure it is current, effective, and aligned with established learning competencies by researching contemporary practices and emerging technologies.
  • Design courses using a competency-based approach coupled with knowledge-based content assessment.
  • Encourage learning by promoting student engagement through active learning strategies.
  • Create innovative active learning opportunities within the IT Pathway and specific courses by leveraging departmental resources to develop engaging student experiences.
  • Participate in advisory, review, and design sessions for the IT Pathway through interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned based on institutional needs.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Science, or a closely related field, along with relevant industry certifications (e.g., LINX, CompTIA, Microsoft).
  • Two years of professional experience in Information Technology or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Science, or a closely related field, along with relevant industry certifications.
  • Experience with web-based learning management systems.
  • Two or more years of college-level teaching experience.
  • Two or more years of work experience in an applied field.
