Responsibilities:


The Surgical Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for the efficient booking of surgical procedures for patients across all age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations for both the Operating Room and the G.I. Lab. This role involves coordinating and confirming the procurement of necessary services, equipment, instruments, and supplies from external vendors for scheduled surgeries. The coordinator prepares and disseminates the surgical schedule and on-call list to relevant departments or personnel. Duties also include checking, entering, and reconciling daily patient charges, as well as preparing and distributing monthly surgical statistics. The coordinator updates the Surgery Schedules and maintains the required Log Book. This position requires answering phone calls and effectively communicating messages. Additional clerical support is provided to the OR Director and Charge Nurse as needed. Collaboration with coworkers, other departments, and external companies is essential to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience:
- Previous experience in a Medical Care Setting is required.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology is essential.
- Strong clerical and computer skills are necessary.
- Proficiency in the English language is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are a must.
- Previous experience in the Operating Room is preferred.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification is required upon hire and must be maintained.
