Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture relationships with premier media outlets, including print, broadcast, and digital platforms, to promote Klarna's achievements and value propositions.
  • Analyze industry trends and competitor movements to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing brand visibility.
  • Prepare Klarna executives for media interactions and public speaking opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough fact-checking of articles to guarantee accurate representation of Klarna, collaborating with journalists for necessary amendments.
  • Safeguard Klarna's public image by engaging proactively with media representatives to communicate our business narrative and rectify any misunderstandings.
  • Work closely with global internal teams (product, legal, finance, etc.) to uncover compelling stories and ensure comprehensive communication with the US audience regarding Klarna's initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to related teams on the reputational implications of emerging issues and implement required operational adjustments.
  • Establish standardized processes to ensure high-quality communication outputs.
  • Propose innovative ideas and strategies to enhance our overall communications approach.


Candidate Profile

  • A seasoned media relations professional with over 4 years of experience, adept at cultivating press relationships and achieving significant media coverage.
  • Possess a strong intuition for identifying newsworthy content and crafting compelling headlines.
  • A motivated self-starter who excels in fast-paced and evolving environments.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a proven track record of executing tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Preferred: Experience in an agency setting.
