In this essential position, you will collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization and interact with significant media representatives. With a comprehensive understanding of both mainstream and legal media environments, the Public Relations Specialist will work alongside the Director of Public Relations and other team members to enhance and promote the firm's external communication initiatives across various practice areas and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee communications and foster media relationships with legal, trade, and business journalists in both regional and national markets.
  • Coordinate and facilitate media interviews with key representatives, evaluate incoming media requests, prepare talking points, and track media coverage.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to assess their public relations requirements and assist in content creation; partner with social media, website, and internal communications teams to manage the complete content lifecycle.
  • Identify and advance strategic initiatives; create and implement public relations plans.
  • Support public relations strategies for selected marketing campaigns as part of a comprehensive campaign approach.
  • Monitor media coverage, generate media reports, and distribute relevant media insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Work in tandem with external PR agencies to identify and leverage media opportunities that align with and enhance the firm's priorities.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, along with 4 years of relevant experience in communications, media relations, or a similar area within a corporate environment.
  • Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and sustain relationships both internally and externally, including with clients and media contacts, and thrive in complex organizational structures across various business units.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the capacity to work effectively with diverse opinions and personalities.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to manage and complete projects while prioritizing competing demands.
  • Demonstrated integrity, discretion, responsiveness, and sound business judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
