**Chief Information Officer Job Description**

We are seeking a skilled Chief Information Officer to join our team at SET SEG in East Lansing, MI.

**Job Overview:** The Chief Information Officer will lead the transformation of our IT department into a modern, agile, and innovative team. This role involves spearheading the modernization of IT infrastructure, security, and business intelligence teams to enhance technology systems, data security, and business analytics.

**Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a forward-thinking IT and business intelligence strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
  2. Serve as a member of SET SEG's Executive leadership team, collaborating with other executive team members and keeping one another abreast of each department's key initiatives.
  3. Present reports to boards of directors regarding IT and business intelligence's vision, strategy, key performance indicators (KPIs), and accomplishments.
  4. Conduct high-level analysis and make changes as necessary to departmental resource planning to serve each business unit efficiently and effectively.
  5. Drive departmental results that support organization-wide Balanced Scorecard initiatives.
  6. Oversee the modernization and maintenance of all IT systems, including servers, networks, and hardware.
  7. Cultivate relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of IT services.
  8. Enhance and implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  9. Evaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability of the IT infrastructure.
  10. Advance a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to protect the organization's IT assets.
  11. Identify and mitigate IT security risks through proactive measures and continuous monitoring.
  12. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards such as HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
  13. Lead the incident response team in the event of a security breach, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
  14. Promote a culture of security awareness across the organization through training and education programs.
  15. Develop and implement a data strategy that drives business insights and decision-making.
  16. Oversee the development and deployment of advanced analytics tools and processes to gather and analyze business data.
  17. Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  18. Define and track KPIs to measure the success and impact of IT and business intelligence initiatives.
  19. Lead the IT division of the organization through mentorship, teaching, clear expectations, and respectful accountability.
  20. Work closely with other departments to ensure data-driven decision-making and support business objectives.

**Requirements:**

  1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related STEM field; Master's degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a proven track record in managing IT infrastructure, security, and business intelligence teams.
  3. Strong knowledge of IT systems, cybersecurity best practices, and business intelligence tools and technologies.
  4. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and drive organizational change.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
  7. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or PMP preferred.
  8. Ability to think long-term and anticipate future technological trends and their impact on the organization.
  9. High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.
  10. Flexibility adapting to changing business needs and emerging technologies.
  11. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

**Compensation:** The estimated salary for this position is $140,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience.
