Position Overview:
The University of New Mexico Bookstore is on the lookout for a committed and innovative individual to join the Course Materials department. The ideal candidate will possess strong collaborative abilities, meticulous attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and a capacity to adapt to the changing landscape of course materials.
Key Responsibilities:
This role involves the coordination of procurement and management of course materials and services intended for resale through the University Bookstore. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with external vendors and customers to assess product requirements and availability.
- Overseeing and coordinating merchandise orders, including receipt and return processes.
- Identifying and resolving procurement challenges and issues.
- Assisting customers with specific product inquiries and ordering processes.
This management position entails overseeing all facets of student employees, which includes hiring, scheduling, training, and work allocation. Additionally, the successful candidate will support the online order fulfillment process across multiple locations. Responsibilities also include opening and closing managerial duties, with some evening, weekend, and holiday work required throughout the year.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that exceed the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to learn reconciliation and reporting systems.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in researching and resolving order/customer service issues.
- Experience in hiring and training student associates.
Additional Requirements:
Official transcripts, high school diploma, or GED certificate will be required for hire.
