Position Overview

This role is for a PRN Nurse within the Wellness Clinic, operating under the Corporate Wellness department. Below are the key details regarding this position:
  • Coverage across various corporate partner sites in the Greater Houston Area (mileage reimbursement is provided)
  • Temporary engagement for the Fall season to support Corporate Sponsorship events
  • Flexible scheduling with an average notice period of two weeks
The Wellness Clinic Nurse is a licensed professional responsible for delivering preventive health screenings, testing services, and routine, non-emergent healthcare to clients at Wellness clinics throughout the organization and at corporate locations. This position entails providing high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient demographic, conducting thorough nursing assessments, administering vaccinations, and offering health education while maintaining accurate medical records.

Core Responsibilities

Patient Care Functions
  • Utilizes therapeutic communication techniques, including active listening and educational support, to build rapport with patients and collaborate with the healthcare team.
  • Contributes to a collaborative work environment by offering assistance and responding positively to team requests, enhancing overall patient satisfaction.
Service Delivery Functions
  • Conducts comprehensive nursing assessments, assists with examinations and treatments, and ensures accurate medical record maintenance. Responsibilities include administering immunizations, performing lab draws, and conducting health assessments.
  • Provides patient education tailored to individual learning needs, utilizing appropriate resources to promote health improvement and wellness.
  • Serves as primary coverage for Wellness Clinics as required.
Quality and Safety Functions
  • Adheres to regulatory standards and professional practices, identifying areas for improvement to enhance patient safety outcomes.
  • Coordinates care with the healthcare team based on patient evaluations, ensuring documentation is accurate and comprehensive.
  • Promotes quality and safety through accountability and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Financial Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates self-motivation in managing time effectively, documenting care promptly, and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Contributes to departmental financial goals by optimizing resource utilization.
Growth and Innovation Functions
  • Identifies opportunities for innovation and improvement in patient care and education, presenting evidence-based solutions to leadership.
  • Champions new care pathways or service line implementations to enhance community service.

Qualifications

Education
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Experience
  • A minimum of three years of registered nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
Licenses and Certifications

Required
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Texas State Licensure or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred
  • Certification in Occupational Hearing Conservation (COHC).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrates the necessary skills and competencies to perform assigned duties safely.
  • Proficient in English, with strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in clinical situations.
  • Proficient in time management and Microsoft Office applications.
