Job Title: Investigator III

Join the State of South Carolina as an Investigator III in the Investigations and Enforcement Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting complex investigations, gathering evidence, and enforcing compliance with the Ethics Act.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including gathering and analyzing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and drafting subpoenas.
  • Enforce compliance with the Ethics Act, including filing financial disclosures and enforcing code of conduct violations.
  • Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies to share information and best practices.
  • Prepare and present cases to the Commission, including drafting written summaries and testifying in administrative and criminal proceedings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Currently certified as a Class I Law Enforcement Officer through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
  • Five (5) years of continuous law enforcement experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to testify in administrative and criminal proceedings.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in conducting investigations.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and make recommendations based on applicable law.
  • Experience with MS Office, particularly with Excel.
