Stiles Machinery Inc. is in search of a National Consulting Services Manager to join our team. This role will be based in Grand Rapids, MI, and involves collaboration with Stiles Sales Engineers and Product Specialists to assist clients in acquiring and implementing our exclusive products. The Manager will assess the client's value stream and provide tailored recommendations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Stiles sales team on a national scale to promote production equipment and automation;
  • Analyze the value stream of Stiles products for our clients;
  • Advise clients on optimal strategies for integrating Stiles machinery into their production processes;
  • Oversee the application and implementation of software solutions;
  • Deliver insights to management regarding project forecasts and significant planning reports;
  • Assess production workflows and devise strategic adjustments;
  • Drive sales of consulting projects within the woodworking sector;
  • Estimate project efforts and calculate associated costs;
  • Lead a team of engineers while ensuring quality control of project deliverables;
  • Assume profit and loss accountability for the business unit.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the National Consulting Services Manager will supervise two Engineers with expertise in woodworking and furniture production. Managerial duties will include:

  • Planning projects and scheduling Engineers based on their qualifications;
  • Organizing travel arrangements and budgets for the Engineers, including expense approvals;
  • Establishing project budgets and ensuring compliance;
  • Mentoring Engineers to enhance the quality of their work;
  • Determining compensation for Engineers;
  • Developing training programs and growth opportunities for the team.
  • Managing project profit and loss, including income and cost planning;
  • Reviewing profit and loss statements and presenting findings to leadership;
  • Consulting with clients to define project scope and creating tailored consulting plans, including cost and pricing calculations;
  • Collaborating with team leadership on project execution, particularly in discussing production costs to align with client expectations.

As the National Consulting Services Manager, the employee will engage in various projects and products, including:

  • Strategic development of production initiatives, including multi-year expansion plans;
  • Providing technology recommendations related to manufacturing, budgeting, and production cost analysis;
  • Leading optimization projects focused on cost and efficiency, including on-site workshops to identify production inefficiencies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the following areas:

  • Project management within the furniture and wood construction sectors;
  • Consulting on production software, including functionality assessment and implementation strategies;
  • Development of production strategies, including reshoring and automation;
  • Management of wood manufacturing product teams;
  • Acquisition of consulting projects, focusing on client relationships and sales.

This position entails extensive travel, approximately 80% of the time, across the United States.
